These Achromatic Cylindrical Lenses function similarly to the standard cylindrical lenses, but have a better reduction in both spherical and chromatic aberration at the image plane. When used with polychromatic light source, the lens minimizes chromatic aberration, results in less color separation for better image quality. When used with monochromatic light source such as laser, the achromatic cylindrical lenses can produce much smaller focus spot comparing to standard cylindrical lenses, depending on the numerical aperture of the lens. These achromatic cylindrical lenses are ideal to generate line profiles and are MgF2 coated to enhance the transmission performance.
