The 401 and 406 Series High-Performance Large Platform Two-Axis Linear Stages integrate two orthogonal positioners into a single low profile unit. These stages offer high load capacity in a design based on three parallel plates. Bearing blocks in the top and bottom plates hold pre-loaded linear ball bushings. The inner plate supports pairs of hardened and polished steel rods that ride in the bushings.
Backlash is eliminated by spring loading the moving assemblies against the tip of the actuator. The stages may be mounted in any orientation.
Solid platform and aperture platform versions are offered. Each features a convenient array of 1/4-20 or M6 tapped holes. The 2.25 in. (57.2 mm) diameter aperture of Model 406 closes to a minimum of 1.875 in. (47.6 mm) at the maximum diagonal displacement of the stage.
