Product Description
Newport's new 2580P Series Multifunction Polarization Controller has four operational modes for a complete polarization control. Controlling polarization state cannot be easier with variable speed polarization scrambling, manual polarization adjustment, polarization function generation, and externally triggered scrambling all included with the 2580P series. In polarization scrambling mode, the instrument uniformly scans through all SOP on Poincare Sphere with user selectable speed and waveform with frequencies ranging from 0.01Hz to 6kHz, hundreds of times faster than Agilent 11896A. Alternatively, it generates randomized SOP points with a trigger output for synchronizing external devices. In the function generation mode, each polarization control axis can be selectively controlled with a sine, square, or sawtooth wave of user defined frequency and amplitude. Additionally, each polarization control axis can also be controlled manually using a user-selected voltage either through the front panel input or USB/RS232 interface. In externally triggered scrambling mode, complete random SOPs are generated responding to synchronizing trigger signals, a feature desirable for recirculating loop applications. All those features are not available with Agilent 11896A. FC/PC and FC/APC connector versions are standard. Connector types can easily be converted to FC/PC, FC/APC, SC/PC or SC/APC by ordering the optional universal connector adapters listed in the ...
